I enjoyed reading this. It was a relatively quick read. I only gave it three stars though, for two reasons.1) It was very hard to follow. There wasn't enough to distinguish the characters from each other. They all sounded and thought the same. Since the story jumped from one person's perspective to another every couple pages and there being so many characters, that lack of distinction made it hard to follow.
2b The story itself was weak. The vast majority of the novel was spent more on simply showing that the characters were horrible people, nothing else. I get that that was the point, but it could have been done in a short story. And probably more effectively.
That said, I did enjoy the writing, and it kept me going to the end.

I didn't enjoy this book, but still read the entire story. I can't give it a terrible rating though, because all literature is an art, and I'm certain there are plenty of readers whom would eat this up. Plus, I never wrote a book - could I do any better? The jury is still out on that one, because no - I've not ever written one, so I find it impossible to despise this book.
I will say this I'm definitely am not a prude, but some things in this story actually made me ill. I am an RN and have a pretty oblique sense of humor if that gives you any indication of my tolerance level. Other things were so purely raunchy and disgusting I felt my face actually twist in revulsion and nausea - keep in mind I am someone who has cleaned up all bodily fluids a human can produce, and seen things on the job most humans wish never to see - all without losing my stomach contents, then discussing it over lunch with other RN's (one of which whom once had a maggot in a bottle in his pocket he picked off a patient's wound - I'm certain the maggot was happy to have escaped). If I was revolted, then this story is pretty knarly.
Again, definitely a market for that sort of story, but not my cup of tea. So I give it a 2.75 with the disclaimer not for everyone - but also with a plea to support indie writers. If you like the absolutely depraved, then this one is for you my friend. )
Not worth the time taken to read.
Horribly powerful. It was a gory traffic accident I just couldn't turn away from. The material the novel is about is certainly awful, but the book is well-written and fascinating. This is the first time I've been compelled to complete a novel within 24 hours in a long time.
This book is an interesting take on the high school experience. It is way over the top and seriously repetitive. The ending is too predictable but ridiculous at the same time. I found it interesting enough to keep reading but by the end less so.
I LOVE SCARY BOOKS.
The writer has a pretty good idea of the workings of ténage kids in the US. While a little difficult to follow, his first person account from all the characters was enjoyable. I recommend this story.
I enjoyed the book but this sort of writing is not for everyone. The story of an exaggerated "high school experience"! I wish the characters were more developed but the author gives you a great idea of the characters experience. I'm planning on reading more of Raptors works!
